MHO Seeks Bids for Emergency Home Repair Program

MHO / Mountain Housing Opportunities, Inc. invites skilled subcontractors interested in submitting bids for MHO’s annual “Unit Bid” process for our Emergency Home Repair Program.

All work will be done in Buncombe County. Contracts will be awarded using unit pricing that will enable subcontractors to participate in upcoming projects for the following year. Due to issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic we are awarding the unit bid to the top two bidders in each trade. Should the first place winner not be able to carry out a job in a timely manner the job may be awarded to the second place bidder.

The following trades are being sought: plumbing, electrical, general carpentry, and roofing.

Bids are due in the MHO offices by 12 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Bids will be publicly opened at that time.

General Liability Insurance and Workers Compensation Insurance are required. You should be trained in lead paint safe work practices as they pertain to EPA 40 CFR Part 745 Lead; Renovation, Repair, and Painting Program. See HUD’s website, https://www.hud.gov/program_offices/healthy_homes/training/rrp/rrp for more information.

For information and forms to use, contact Joy Wilcox before the deadline at 828-254-4030 ext. 129.

MHO is an equal opportunity contractor. All qualified contractors and subcontractors including women and minorities are encouraged to bid.
