Current positions available on Asheville boards and commissions are open for applications, which are due no later than Monday, July 15, 2019 at 5 p.m.

For those interested, serving on a board or commission is an excellent way to become involved in the future of our city, while helping your neighbors and friends have input onto important decisions we must make as a community.

Current Vacancies

ABC Board – Oversees the operation and administration of the ABC system.

Housing Authority – Commissioners are the policy-makers and governing body of the Housing Authority. They review and approve all budgets for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, approve plans and specifications, award contracts, and appoint the Executive Director.

Note that current Executive Director Gene Bell has announced his retirement this summer, so his successor will be named by the board.
