Right-of-Way Debris Removal
Saturday, March 1, 2025, is the final day to place storm debris in the right-of-way (ROW) for collection.
The public ROW includes areas like roads, sidewalks, and nearby spaces that are meant for public use.
If you are able to move debris to the public right-of-way, this is your best option for getting rid of storm debris. After this deadline, crews will conduct a final sweep, expected to be completed by April 1, 2025.
- No debris placed by community members will be collected from the ROW after the final pass.
- Debris must be sorted (construction materials, appliances, electronics, vegetative debris, mud/dirt).
- Do not bag debris unless necessary—only clear/transparent bags are allowed.
If you miss this deadline or need help with removing debris, free debris removal is available though the Private Property Debris Removal Program.
Important Reminders
- Place debris within 10 feet of the public right-of-way.
- Do not place debris near low-hanging power lines, trees, poles, or other structures. This includes fire hydrants, meters, and curbside trash carts.
- Do not block the roadway for large trucks/emergency vehicles.
- Debris crews will no longer pickup debris in black bags. If you need to bag debris, please use clear bags.
Owners who cannot take their private or commercial business property debris to the right-of-way for pickup, and who do not have debris removal insurance or have inadequate debris removal insurance, may apply to have qualified disaster debris removed from their property for FREE through the Private and Commercial Property Debris Removal (PPDR) Program.
