Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church Honors 2025-26 Graduates

Pre-K, high school, and college graduates recognized.

On Sunday, June 28, 2026, Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church honored its Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 graduates.

This year’s graduating class spanned multiple generations, including a mother and son as well as a grandmother and grandson. The church also celebrated the accomplishments of its youth who earned academic awards throughout the school year, including A Honor Roll, A/B Honor Roll, and Perfect Attendance recognition.

Aleeyah Johnson, a rising sophomore at East Carolina University, was recognized for earning a place on the Dean’s List during both the fall and spring semesters. Elder and Mrs. Alfred E. Blount offered words of encouragement to the graduates and scholars before presenting each of them with gifts of love on behalf of the entire congregation.

Primary to High School Graduates Recognized

This year’s graduates included Prynce Washington and Journey Owens, who were promoted from preschool to kindergarten. Nikirra Holloway, Idrene Jennings, and Teyonia Scott completed fifth grade and will transition to middle school this fall.

At the high school level, Dawson Green, a graduate of T.C. Roberson High School, was recognized for maintaining an outstanding 4.4 GPA while remaining actively involved in numerous student organizations and leadership roles throughout his four years of high school.

Jye Jackson and Leeyana Jenkins, graduates of South Garner High School, along with Reason Plummer, a distinguished varsity student-athlete at T.C. Roberson, were also honored as they embark on the next chapter of their lives through higher education and workforce opportunities.

College Graduates Honored

The college graduates were an equally impressive group. Reason Plummer celebrated alongside his mother, Akiba Plummer, who graduated from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College with an Associate of Science in Nursing.

Christopher Harris earned his degree from NC Agricultural and Technical State University. Raymond McDay, Jr. graduated from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and Public Relations, along with a minor in Business Administration.

Pearley Hampton, grandmother of Journey Owens, graduated from Walden University with a BS in Human Services, maintaining an impressive 3.8 GPA throughout her studies.

The church also celebrated Dr. DeOnna Blount-Pulley, who earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Gardner-Webb University in May 2025.

Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church is proud of each graduate and scholar for their hard work, perseverance, and dedication to academic excellence. The church remains committed to celebrating educational achievement and encouraging individuals of all ages to pursue lifelong learning.
