Thanks to some hard work by artists and volunteers, Coxe Avenue was transformed into a cycling and pedestrian friendly work of art in just 48 hours.

This street mural is a temporary multimodal transportation experiment. It is expected to last from six months to a year. The next phase will be to get feedback from folks on what they like and don’t like, and what works. There are lots of signs near the mural explaining things.

A quick letter of support to city council is a critical component of future projects. Let our elected leaders know that you appreciate the Coxe Ave. project. Say thanks for making our streets safer and far more colorful! Please email today!

Asheville Street Tweaks is a collaborative effort led by Asheville on Bikes, the Blue Ridge Bicycle Club, the AARP, North Carolina, Mountain Region, Strive Not To Drive, and Open Streets. Visit
