Catawba View Missionary Baptist Church Fulfillment Hour
“Toss vs. Goss” – Traditional Oriented Sunday School vs. Growth Oriented Sunday School
Catawba View Missionary Baptist Church (CV) is looking at church growth through new lenses. Pastor Ronald A. Sullivan was given the vision to take the church to a new level by focusing on spiritual growth for the church leadership and membership and to develop disciples who could develop disciples.
In researching how
best to implement the vision God had given him, Pastor Sullivan
explored many models of how to effectively create church growth through
the Sunday morning pre-worship experience, traditionally known as
Sunday School. He was led to his mentor George O. McCalep, Jr., Ph.D.,
former Pastor of Greenforest Community Baptist Church, a noted church
growth author, lecturer, and editor of the Fulfillment Hour model.
The Fulfillment Hour is “a model in which small groups carry out all of
God’s biblically mandated purposes of the church during a specific
block of time normally assigned to Sunday School”.
These purposes are:
• Evangelism – Leading people to a belief and greater faith in Jesus Christ.
• Discipleship – Leading people to grow spiritually.
• Fellowship – Leading people to building Godly loving relationships
• Ministry/Missions – Leading people to discover their spiritual gifts and use them
• Worship – Leading people to express their adoration, honor and love for God.
With this as his premise and the faithful, dedicated leaders and
members of Catawba View, Pastor Sullivan established “The Catawba View
Fulfillment Hour.”
Fulfillment Hour has seen much growth since its 2006 inception. Take a
drive down the mountain Sunday morning and join us for Fulfillment Hour
— worship where God’s blessings are made manifest before your eyes.
