Spurred on by President Donald Trump, a violent mob stormed the U.S. Capitol following the March to Save America rally on January 6, 2021 in Washington, DC.
Trump’s supporters had gathered in the nation’s capital to protest the ratification of President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory over President Trump in the 2020 election.
The angry mob clashed with police and security forces as they pushed down barricades and storming the US Capitol.
Five people died, dozens were injured, hundreds feared for their lives for hours under lockdown (calling and texting loved ones in desperation), and millions of citizens across the country were terrorized.
