Great actors and actresses usually have a tendency to either take their work home or relate to their characters on one level or another.
The latter applies to Sanaa Lathan. The veteran actress opened up to People recently about the character in her new film, The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat.

“Each character laces me with something,” she said.
Lathan’s new film is her latest example. The movie follows a group of friends as they hash out the issues of their lives at a diner they frequent. Lathan said that he character, Barbara Jean, is battling alcoholism—something that the 52-year-old is familiar with.
In 2021, Lathan revealed to People that she gave up alcohol three years prior. While she wasn’t a daily drinker, she admitted that alcohol had played a significant role in her life. She also added that the opportunity to play Barbara Jean has helped her, as she is “a woman in pain that’s self-medicating.”

Erica Banks: I Went Through Hell With My BBL… It Was Scary
Rapper Erica Banks shared in a recent interview with B High TV that she went through “hell” while recovering from her second Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure. She went into detail about her experience, noting that while she was “happy” with the results other second surgery, the rehab was “excruciating.”
“Probably the worst pain I’ve ever experienced in my whole life,” Banks said. “The first day, I passed out. . . When I got back to the Airbnb, I was really hot… you lose a lot of blood.”
Thankfully, Banks had her mother by her side to help with post-op care, but her complications lasted for several months.
“The pain is just excruciating, you know because the inside of your body’s like, brutalized, like, what the hell’s going on? You know what I’m saying? So, it took a while. I probably didn’t stop hurting all the way until like April. I got my surgery in December. I just stopped hurting in April.”
BBL’s cary significant risks, making the procedure very dangerous if not performed and attended to carefully. On of the most serious risks is fat embolism, where fat particles can enter the bloodstream and travel to the lungs or brain. Prolonged activity after the BBL can also increase the risk of deep vein thrombosis or DVT, where blood clots form in the deep veins and can potentially travel to the lungs, resulting in a pulmonary embolism.
Lauren London continues Nipsey Hussle’s vision with new business competition.
Actress Lauren London continues to honor the legacy of the Nipsey Hussle in a plethora of ways. When she’s not promoting the late rapper’s clothing brand, she’s executing his vision helping people of color achieve financial freedom through entrepreneurship. The Nipsey Hussle 100k pitch competition is that initiative.
One of Hussle’s many passions was seeing Black-owned businesses thrive through entrepreneurship. He was also an advocate for financial literacy and understanding that communities could grow and thrive with a better understanding of investments and ownership.
Years after his passing, the rapper’s vision came to fruition at the third annual Invest Fest, a pitch competition where business owners competed for a $100,000 grant.
In a recent Instagram post the “Earn Your Leisure” podcast co-host Troy Millings shared their appreciation for the hard work and dedication to fulfilling Hussle’s missions to encourage business ownership.

Wendy Williams spotted for the first time in more than a year at New Jersey holistic store.
Former radio and daytime TV host Wendy Williams made her first appearance in over a year recently while shopping at a holistic store in Newark, New Jersey. The media maven appeared cheerful and in high spirits during her outing.
According to “Page Six,” Williams paid a visit to Bolingo Balance, a health store owned by Victor Bowman, the son of the late Dr. Sebi. Sources close to Williams informed the publication that she was “Sharp, upbeat and very bubbly” during her store visit.
