Scholarships for Spring and Fall 2021 at A-B Tech

A-B Tech Community College has a scholarship for individuals who have experienced a job loss or reduced income as a result of Covid-19 that can help start a new career this spring.

The A-B Tech Works Scholarship is available on a first-come, first-served basis for the Spring Semester only. Students may still qualify for late start, which begins March 10. The scholarship is intended for current, returning, or new students. Applicants may be enrolled as full-time or part-time students.

These funds were made available to A-B Tech and other colleges by Congress under Section 18004(a)(2) of the Education Stabilization Fund of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

For students interested in short-term training, the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Scholarship Program provides scholarships for eligible community college workforce continuing education students pursuing high-demand workforce training programs.

The scholarships help cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, supplies, credentialing tests, transportation, childcare, and other components of the total cost of attendance for students enrolled in the following A-B Tech workforce continuing education programs of study: Barber Academy, Certified Production Technician, Clinical Massage, CNC Machining 101, Composite Technology, Electronic Health Records, EMT Basic and Advanced, Fire Academy, Industrial Maintenance, Machining Fundamentals, Nurse Aide I and II, and Ophthalmic Assistant.

For individuals interested in attending in the fall, the Foundation Scholarship application process is open until April 2. Scholarships will be awarded in early June. A-B Tech has dozens of scholarships available including several designated for minority students.
