Alpha Kappa Alpha Chapter Honors Graduates

Gamma Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority hosted its annual Senior Appreciation day May 4, 2013 at Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church.
ZaKiya Bell-Rogers, chairman of the Scholarship Committee, greeted the audience and graduating seniors, and chapter president Dorothy Johnson spoke on The Occasion and its meaning for the young adults present—and their families and community. Eric Gash gave the formal address to the graduates, offering words of praise for their accomplishments and encouragement for their future. Each student received a plaque as he or she was recognized.
The honorees represented four county high schools and Asheville High School. Recognized at the ceremony were:
Asheville High School: Briana Bunn, Mirrah Colbert-Grant, Rachel Downie, Caleb Jones, Quanteria Sitton, Kiarra Tobe, Nyrobi Tyson, and Abrielle Wallace
Clyde A. Erwin High School: Dallas Arteta
Charles D. Owen High School: Tamara Groce and Ciara Holloman
A.C. Reynolds High School: Sashia Black, La’Vell Shayhelm Dixon, Sintayenu Lenahan, Brianna Lloyd, Reween Mooney, Tyler Stallworth, and Andrana Jeffries
T.C. Roberson High School: Gregory Banks, Aaramika Brown, Charlet Bulgin, Malik Griffin, Tia Hicks, Takayla Hudson, Ayana Lee, Jaylyn Miller, Tamaira Munoz, Dayton Rutherford, Asia Singleton, and Wilburn Smith
In addition, scholarships were awarded to three outstanding graduates to help defray the costs of college. The recipients were Rachel Downie of Asheville High, Reween Mooney of A.C. Reynolds, and Dayton Rutherford of T.C. Roberson.
