Thanks to some hard work by artists and volunteers, Coxe Avenue was transformed into a cycling and pedestrian friendly work of art in just 48 hours.

This street mural is a temporary multimodal transportation experiment. It is expected to last from six months to a year. The next phase will be to get feedback from folks on what they like and don’t like, and what works. There are lots of signs near the mural explaining things.

A quick letter of support to city council is a critical component of future projects. Let our elected leaders know that you appreciate the Coxe Ave. project. Say thanks for making our streets safer and far more colorful! Please email [email protected] today!

Asheville Street Tweaks is a collaborative effort led by Asheville on Bikes, the Blue Ridge Bicycle Club, the AARP, North Carolina, Mountain Region, Strive Not To Drive, and Open Streets. Visit ashevilleonbikes.com/street-tweaks.
