League Highlights Races for State House & Senate, Sheriff & School Board
On Monday, Oct. 16, 2006 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m., the League of Women Voters of Asheville-Buncombe County will hold a forum for NC State Senate and House Candidates, cosponsored by The Center for Creative Retirement and Leadership Asheville. Candidates for NC Senate District 48 and NC House Districts 114, 115, and 116 will speak at the Randolph Learning Center, 90 Montford Avenue.
On Monday, Oct. 23 the League will hold a forum for candidates for Buncombe County Sheriff and the Erwin and Reynolds District seats on the Buncombe County School Board. The forum will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria of Clyde A. Erwin High School, 60 Lee’s Creek Road, in the Leicester district of Asheville. This event is co-sponsored by The North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement, The Leadership Asheville Forum, and Kids Voting.
Both forums are free and open to the public. Following opening statements by each of the candidates, written questions from the audience will be taken.
