Sometimes pain is the catalyst for the best art.
Coming off the heels of her breakup with Dallas Mavericks guard Klay Thompson, rapper Megan Thee Stallion is back in the studio. She appeared on IG live recently, teasing new music.
In the video, Megan modeled a bikini, more than likely from her Hot Girl Swimwear collection, sipping on her tequila and dancing on a yacht surrounded by other women, while the new track played.
In the mystery song, she raps, “All that wifey s–t is dead/ Put that s–t to bed.” She continues, “I’mma make ’em beg/ When I want some head.” The mystery song may be part of an upcoming project, titled Thee House of Tina: Act III, in which she shared a wish list of artists she wants to collaborate with including Jay-Z, Hayley Williams, Monaleo, and Cardi B.
Is there hateration in Mary J. Blige’s Vegas dancery?
The queen of hip-hop soul recently wrapped the first leg of her highly anticipated “My Life, My Story” Las Vegas residency at Park MGM, performing during the first week of June. While many fans praised the shows, a few online critics accused the R&B icon of being “lazy” onstage.

The conversation started after clips from the residency circulated online showing the 55-year-old singer seated in an elaborate chair while performing a medley of hits, including “Come Close” with Common, and The Notorious B.I.G.’s “One More Chance (Remix).”
In the videos, Mary J. Blige appeared relaxed, vibing along with the crowd, bobbing to the music, and taking in the moment while continuing to sing through the set. At one point, a stagehand even brought her water mid-performance, which only fueled online commentary from viewers who felt the laid-back approach carried over into portions of the residency.
The irony of the criticism isn’t lost by any means. For years, Blige has been ridiculed for her dancing. Now, during the rare time that she doesn’t dance, it’s a problem. Go figure.
Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o has been cast as Helen of Troy in the upcoming film The Odyssey. She recently sat down with Elle magazine and opened up about the backlash she’s received about her casting.
Nyong’o plays Helen of Troy, the most beautiful woman in the world who gets blamed for starting a war.
“I’m not spending my time thinking of a defense,” she said. “The criticism will exist whether I engage with it or not.”
Catch The Odyssey in theatres July 17.
NBA Superstar Stephen Curry has a chance to add Tony Award Winner to his résumé. The Golden State Warriors guard and his wife, Ayesha, are co-producers of the Broadway musical adaptation of the classic 1987 film, The Lost Boys. Their production has received 12 nominations, the most of the season, including Best Musical.
