2026 Scholarship Application for Local High School Seniors
Offered by the Gamma Gamma Omega Chapter of AKA.

The Gamma Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, is accepting applications for its 2026 Scholarship Program, which provides financial assistance to outstanding graduating high school seniors throughout western North Carolina.
The scholarship reflects the chapter’s longstanding commitment to educational excellence and community service by investing in students who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership potential, and a commitment to serving others.
Graduating seniors from high schools located in Asheville and Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, and Transylvania counties are encouraged to apply. Eligible applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and plan to continue their education at an accredited college, university, or technical institution.
To be considered, applicants must submit:
- A completed scholarship application;
- A 400–500-word essay responding to one of the designated prompts; and
- Two letters of recommendation from a school administrator, counselor, teacher, employer, coach, or pastor.
All application materials must be submitted before midnight on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

For decades, Gamma Gamma Omega has remained committed to supporting educational initiatives, mentoring youth, and providing scholarships that help students pursue their dreams of higher education. The chapter recognizes that investing in young people today helps cultivate the leaders, innovators, and change-makers of tomorrow.
Students, families, educators, counselors, coaches, faith leaders, and community organizations are encouraged to share information about the scholarship with eligible graduating seniors throughout the region.
