This is a full-time position with United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County (UWABC), however the employee will work full-time at North Buncombe Middle School. This position provides an opportunity for meaningful engagement with area nonprofits, school systems and community volunteers.

Our key focus, Community Schools, is a systems-based, equity-centered strategy that coordinates partnerships and resources through the local schools to accelerate equitable outcomes in health, education, and employment.

The Community School Coordinator will build, maintain, and strengthen school and community partnerships to help meet the needs of students and families throughout the assigned district. Several primary functions of the position include:
- Supporting student achievement by addressing barriers to necessary services and supports
- Engaging parents, families, and the community at the school
- Enabling more efficient and effective use of key resources and community partnerships
