Four Seasons Compassion for Life Acquires Compassionate Home Care, Expands Scope of Services

Four Seasons Compassion for Life, western North Carolina’s leader in innovative health care, recently expanded its scope of services to include home care services by acquiring Compassionate Home Care, a Hendersonville-based home care agency established in 1998.

The partnership of the two organizations will expand regional access to the highest quality of in-home care in any setting a patient calls home.

Compassionate Home Care boasts an early foundation similar to Four Seasons, being founded locally and run and supported by western North Carolina communities. The acquisition of such a reputable and established partner as Compassionate Home Care allows Four Seasons to build on the outstanding reputation of both organizations, offering patients a continuous, broader spectrum of care.

As the regional leader in hospice and palliative care, Four Seasons has established its legacy by consistently innovating around the health care needs of patients. The organization has grown carefully and deliberately over the past thirty years, adding medical services and modalities with the utmost expertise and nationally-recognized best practices. Four Seasons has realized this growth and become a respected leader in the world of hospice and palliative medicine by responding to the needs of the community. The addition of home care to the spectrum of care offered by the organization is yet another way Four Seasons is meeting the needs of patients, families, and caregivers.

“We are thrilled to team up two excellent organizations that have incredible teams of caregivers,” said Chris Comeaux, Four Seasons’ CEO. “Being supported with in-home care during the latter portion of life is essential. Four Seasons, now along with Compassionate Home Care, can meet all of those care needs with the most compassionate of staff.”

Four Seasons will now offer skilled nursing home health care, elderly care, adult sitter care, and general home care. The addition of these services is in keeping with Four Seasons’ commitment to meeting the needs of patients in their home, wherever that home may be. Patients will now be able to receive home, hospice, or palliative care with more convenience and comfort than ever before, from the most trusted caregivers in the region.

Teresa Walton, Director of Nursing at Compassionate Home Care since 2006, commented on the acquisition, stating that it will indeed enhance quality of life for patients and further ensure their well-being.

“For a decade, I have watched our company grow and evolve while maintaining benevolence at our core from our administrative staff, to our caregivers and our nurses,” Walton said. “I believe our partnership with Four Seasons will continue to enhance these values – this hospitality – so that we may continue to foster our legacy of care.”

In keeping with both organizations’ commitment to serving local communities, Compassionate Home Care will retain its current staff and office location, continuing operations as normal with the goal of growing staff as more clients are served.

“Through our shared commitment to excellence, we combine values and passion with strategic recruitment, strong retention, superior training and development, and vibrant wellbeing efforts to ensure we continue to be the chosen provider of quality care in the region,” said Millicent Burke-Sinclair, Four Seasons’ Vice President of Employee and Volunteer Solutions.

Together the organizations will attain the goal of becoming the largest home care provider in Henderson County and expand their footprint in surrounding counties.

“As we see health care today moving from facility-based care to care in the home, Four Seasons now has the ability to serve families like never before,” said Bryan Brandon PT, MBA, MHA, Chief Operating Officer of HomeCare Operations. “I am honored to be a part of two incredible companies becoming one and strengthening our ability to serve our communities.”
