Spring Into Wellness Camp
Spring Into Wellness is a camp offering middle school students a fun and engaging way to explore what it takes to have a future healthcare career.
Character Development focuses on personal responsibility, goal setting, team-building and choices.
Healthcare Careers includes time in the computer lab, CPR certification, learning the education tracks toward different healthcare careers, and a visit to Mission Hospitals.
Personal Wellness focuses on choices, including food, exercise, personal habits and more. Other fun daily activities include utilizing a climbing wall and swimming.
This overnight camp
will be held on the UNC Asheville campus. Room and board are provided.
Campers are expected to stay on campus from check-in through check-out.
Experienced camp co-directors, counselors and health professionals will
supervise campers at all times.
There is a $10 fee due at time of application. This fee is refundable if not selected to attend. Otherwise, this camp is free.
Application Requirements
• Students entering 7th and 8th grade in Fall 2008
• Interest in health and science careers
• Overall C+ grade point average
• Good school behavioral and attendance records
• Physically capable of participating in camp activities such as
hiking, climbing wall, and activities associated with CPR training
• Recommendation from school principal, counselor and/or teacher
• Parent/Guardian permission
• Commitment from parent/guardian to participate in the orientation meeting and closing graduation activities
