Register and Vote During Early Voting

During the early voting period, eligible individuals may also register to vote and vote at the same time.

Same-day registrants can vote by providing proof of where they live, and show a photo ID.

Eligible individuals who reside in a county but are not yet registered to vote there may register and vote at any early voting site in their county.

After registering, the newly registered voter can immediately vote at that same site.

These “same-day registrants” must attest to their eligibility, including US citizenship, provide proof of where they live, and show an acceptable form of photo ID. For more information, see Register in Person During Early Voting, at www.ncsbe.gov/registering/how-register/register-person-during-early-voting.

In-Person Early Voting

  • Begins Thursday, October 15.
  • Ends at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 31.

When you check in to vote at an early voting site, you may also update your name or address within the same county if necessary.

These include: one US Senate seat, 14 US House seats, one NC Supreme Court and three NC Court of Appeals seats, and all NC General Assembly seats, among others.
