Homeward Bound of Western North Carolina is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to ending homelessness in the region.

Homeward Bound of Western North Carolina has appointed David Nash as Interim Executive Director. Nash, retired from his work with the Asheville Housing Authority, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to serving the community.

Nash is the current chair of the Asheville Buncombe Homeless Initiative Advisory Committee and has worked closely with other supportive service agencies in collaborative efforts to house many people experiencing homelessness.

As an attorney with Pisgah Legal Services in the 1990s, Nash helped write the grant that funded the construction of AHOPE Day Center. He currently serves as an appointee of Governor Roy Cooper on the North Carolina Interagency Council for Coordinating Homeless Programs.

“David Nash’s extensive experience in the Asheville community, coupled with his expertise in housing programs and services, makes him an ideal fit for this interim role,” said Senior Resource Development Director Eleanor Ashton. “He has a proven track record of successfully implementing initiatives that address the root causes of homelessness and provide individuals and families with the support they need to regain stability.”
