Fallen Hero II Memorial Parade Ride and Band Jam

A two-day benefit for the family of fallen firefighter Capt. Jeff Bowen will be held August 20 and 21 in Black Mountain and Asheville. The parade route starts at Kearfott Parking Lot on Rt. 70, in Black Mountain and proceeds to McCormick Field in Asheville. Various fire departments and police will join in the procession.

The motorcycle parade will leave Kearfott at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, August 20. To show support for Capt. Bowen’s family and the dedicated officers who protect lives every day, all area residents are encourage to attend the parade and the Fallen Hero Ceremony and Tribute that follows at McCormick Field.

At the conclusion of the tribute, Mack Kells will host a two-day Band Jam under a tent in McCormick Field’s parking lot. Twelve local bands have donated their time and talent in support of the Bowen family. Bands will start at 1 p.m. each of the two days.

A $10 donation is requested at the door. All donations will go directly to the family. Mack Kells will donate .50¢ for each beer and soda sold at their restaurant on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21. Let us come together and recognize these true heroes.
