Stories on Asheville’s Front Porch
by Sarah Larson
On Saturday, July 23, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the Rhino Courtyard of Pack Place, Charles Parham will wow his audience with his recitations of poetry, larger-than-life adventures, ghost stories, and twists and turns that lead to amazing finales.
Sherry Lovett, who teaches storytelling to children at the Penland School of Crafts, will join Parham; her vocal shifts and characterizations mesmerize audiences of all ages. Sharing the bill are Nancy Reeder, who tells global stories of myths and legends – and who recently completed hiking the legendary Appalachian Trail — and Jack Pine, sharing traditional British tales, poetry, and myths.
The next installment of front-porch stories will be held Saturday, August 6, and feature Fairview storyteller and actress Becky Stone.
