The Culture of Health Prize honors and elevates communities at the forefront of advancing health, opportunity, and equity for all.
Congratulations to Kathey Avery of ABIPA, and Frank Castelblanco and Shuchin Shukla, both of MAHEC. They are part of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Clinical Scholars, a leadership opportunity for practitioners from diverse health care fields. They will collaborate with other interdisciplinary teams of health care providers to tackle complex health problems in their communities, building a culture of health nationwide for the next three years.
Kathey is the team leader and will be elevating her current work with local residents of Arrowhead Apartments. She will train and support area health workers to improve the health of the community through education and prevention efforts.
