Healthy eating begins with learning how to “eat smart’, not just what we eat, but how we eat. Food choices can reduce your risk of illnesses such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, as well as reduce stress and defend against depression. Additionally, healthy eating can improve your health by boosting your energy, sharpening your memory and stabilizing your mood.

Does it seem hard to eat smart or move more during your day? If your answer is yes, please join Project NAF on October 12 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to learn and discuss ways to live healthier.

Cathy Hohenstein, RD MPH, will be the guest speaker for this
empowerment session to be held on October 12, 2010. The topic will be
“Eat Smart Move More and Living Healthfully”. Cathy is the Extension
Agent, Family and Consumer Sciences, Buncombe County Center NC
Cooperative Extension Service.

This program will share ways on how others have been able to find the
time and the motivation to eat healthier and be more physically active.
It is important, as a family, to have a healthy lifestyle, but it can be
hard to fit it into our busy day. Sometimes the first step is setting
up a plan. So come join us and come away from the evening with some
specific plans on how your family can eat smart and move more.
