Pardee Offers Support for People With Oral, Head and Neck Cancer

A local chapter of SPOHNC (Support for People with Oral, Head and Neck Cancer) will begin meeting at the Pardee Health Education Center on Tuesday, July 14 from 5 until 6:30 p.m. The support group will meet on the second Tuesday of each month and offer information, support and encouragement to newly diagnosed patients, survivors, family members and friends.

Head and neck cancer is the term given to a variety of malignant tumors that may occur in the head and neck region. The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with head and neck cancer each year. SPOHNC is a patient-directed, self-help organization dedicated to meeting the needs of oral, head and neck cancer patients. Pardee Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital founded in 1953.
