The Worst Election

2024 was the worst election I have experienced in my 79 years.

GOD only knows who you voted for—and He will hear your petition of prayer when TRUMP causes you and your family multitudes of grief.

It will cost taxpayers more than one trillion dollars to deport the over “14 million people” Trump says he plans to round up. We as a nation don’t have one trillion dollars saved up in Trump’s bank Axos, where he deposited your generous campaign donations and profits from the low-quality items he sold to people. Axos Bank has provided financing of more than $500 million to Trump, including money to pay his civil fines and penalties of over $175 million. [Associated Press, Washington Post]

Think about this: Trump’s $59.99 Bible was made in China for $3.00 each. Only 2.53% of the 1.4 billion Chinese people are Christians like you and Trump, so to whom does that profit go? He grosses $56.99 per copy, which reportedly profited him by over seven million dollars.

Two Groups that Impacted the 2024 Election

White evangelical and Black pastors had a “significant impact” on this 2024 election. They preached to a captive audience; but, instead of preaching the truth, they hid behind the separation of church and state rule, written by Thomas Jefferson. NOTE: Thomas Jefferson owned over 600 slaves and fathered six children with his enslaved concubine, but only granted freedom to five of their offspring. This Founding Father, the primary author of the Declaration of Independence, said, “All men are created equal.” One could only guess that this assertion depends on his definition of “men.”

What Did Jesus Do? Unlike those pastors, Jesus did not abide by the separation of church and state rules when he flipped over the tables in Jerusalem of the crooked, lying, and deceptive merchants in the Temple. He told the people to “Be watchful.”

Civics Education IS Education

As a student in a segregated all-black high school, Williston Senior High, Class of 1963, I was taught “How a Bill Becomes a Law” in the mandatory US Government class.

We learned that the members of the US House of Representatives must run for re-election every two years, and one third of US Senators also. Currently, we have 425 House members and 100 senators. And we learned the process of turning legislation into laws.

Parents, do your 9th-12th-grade students know how a bill becomes a law?

But civics is not taught in schools nowadays. Republicans don’t want your children to learn social studies and/or political science. That is why they plan to eliminate the entire United States Department of Education. In that context, we must remember that it was illegal to teach a slave to read and write.

Hopefully, the voters in the mid-term elections two years from now will be better informed.

As a “Teacher For Life,” I will do my part by writing posts and guest commentaries. I will also e-mail students, parents, teachers, ministers, doctors, politicians, family members, and others to inform them of Trump’s actions. The title will be excerpts from my book “What We Blacks Need to Do—Part 2.

African proverb: “When a ram goes backward, it is not regressing; it moves back to gather more strength.” As for me and my household, we will spend one month completing the five stages of grief; and 22 months of educating ourselves and registering voters, and then finding that “bright side” during the midterm election. We will work much harder to make sure these pathological liars and haters will never get elected.
