Priscilla N. Robinson Recognized in the Routledge Companion to Libraries

Routledge addresses issues of importance to library and archives workers.

The Routledge Companion to Libraries, Archives, and the Digital Humanities The Routledge Companion to Libraries, Archives, and the Digital Humanities covers a wide range of issues encountered in the world’s libraries and archives as they continue to expand their support of, and direct engagement in, Digital Humanities (DH) research and teaching.

In addition to topics related to the practice of librarianship, and to libraries and archives as DH-friendly institutions, Routledge addresses issues of importance to library and archives workers themselves: labor, sustainability, organization and infrastructure, and focused professional practices that reflect the increasingly important role of librarians and archivists as active research partners.

“I’m honored to be a contributor to this notable Routlege 2024 edition and publication. It has been a privilege and awesome experience in collaboration with University of Maryland Prof. Richard Marciano, who serves as Director of Digital Curation for Information Professionals (DCIP) and Director of the Advanced Information Collaboratory (AIC). The AIC is an international research network (with partners from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia). I give Dr. Marciano credit for the expanded conversation referencing the impact of urban renewal in Asheville,” said Ms. Robinson.

“I am also honored to be a contributor to “Twilight of a Neighborhood” in the publication Crossroads. I acknowledge and give credit to Dr. Harlan Joel Gradin, North Carolina Humanities Scholar Emeritus, a retired dedicated staff member at North Carolina Humanities. He was the force behind the first publication, ushering in conversation referencing the impact of urban renewal,” concluded Ms. Robinson.

Crossroads’ publication of “Twilight of a Neighborhood” received the North Carolina Humanities Council Harlan Joel Gradin Award for Excellence in Public Humanities in 2014.

The Routledge Companion to Libraries, Archives, and the Digital Humanities will be of interest to DH practitioners and theorists, especially those who work in libraries and archives, and those who work with them.
