The Institute for Preventive Healthcare and Advocacy (IFPHA) is honored to announce it has received a $5,000 NOW Grant from WNC Bridge Foundation.

This investment will strengthen IFPHA’s efforts to improve health outcomes for older adults and underserved communities throughout Western North Carolina by expanding access to preventive health education, chronic disease prevention, community health screenings, and connections to essential health and social services.

IFPHA is deeply grateful for this funding, recognizing the increased demand for philanthropic support across the region. This grant represents an important investment in its mission of reducing health disparities through prevention, education, and community engagement. The grant will help support IFPHA’s community-based programs that address chronic disease prevention, healthy aging, nutrition, and the social determinants of health while connecting residents with resources that improve overall well-being.

“Every investment in prevention creates healthier individuals and stronger communities,” said Kathey Avery, RN, BSN, CEO and Founder of IFPHA. “We sincerely appreciate WNC Bridge Foundation’s confidence in our work. This funding allows us to continue reaching individuals who often face barriers to healthcare and provides opportunities to educate, empower, and connect people with services that can improve their quality of life.”

For more than four decades, IFPHA has worked alongside community partners to address health inequities by delivering culturally responsive health education, screenings, resource navigation, and advocacy. Through trusted relationships with community organizations, faith-based partners, and local agencies, IFPHA helps residents access preventive healthcare services before health concerns become medical crises.

The Institute for Preventive Healthcare and Advocacy extends its sincere appreciation to the WNC Bridge Foundation for its commitment to improving the health and well-being of Western North Carolina residents. Together, this partnership will help expand access to preventive healthcare and promote healthier communities across the region.
