Nurses Protest at White House

Members of America’s largest nurses union protested outside the White House on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 demanding funding for mass production of protective equipment amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

They read aloud the names of nurses who have died from COVID-19 as hospitals nationwide face shortages of critical medical supplies. More than 9,000 health care workers in the U.S. have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the CDC.

Pres. Trump has resisted calls to take more aggressive action to ensure health workers have the supplies they need.
