MSDBC Job Opening: Engineering Support Technician

Hiring range of $27.63 (min) – $33.86 (mid). Pay will depend on the selected candidate’s experience.
Job Duties
Under general supervision, reviews and inspects plans and sewerage systems for compliance with engineering standards. Work involves planning, organizing, and performing various technical tasks related to new allocations and connections to the district sewer system. Work also involves overseeing and reviewing the work of professional, technical, and other individuals who require District approval or assistance in sewerage problems and construction associated with sewer connections and extensions. The employee is expected to identify and resolve complex administrative and technical problems associated with the engineering function. Considerable independent judgment and initiative are required in carrying out work assignments. Reports to the Planning and Development Manager.
Minimum Training and Experience
- Associate’s degree in civil engineering with 1 to 2 years of experience in engineering design, construction, construction observation, or related work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
- Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering Intern Certification
