Tropical Storm Helene’s destruction required the county to replace or transfer to another location 17 of the 80 voting sites across the county. Their replacements are listed at www.buncombecounty.org/common/election/2024-12%20Amended%20General%20Voting%20Resolution_Exhibit%20A.pdf.
The reasons for the relocations include: Flood damage; Sites serving as disaster relief hubs; and Sites serving as emergency operations.
Residents who are unsure of where to vote on Election Day can use thee search tool at vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup to find the name and address of their polling location, as well as a sample ballot. However, it will take Board of Elections staff a few days to populate the tool with all the new locations.
With more than 500 confirmed poll workers at the ready, Buncombe County has adequate staffing for all voting sites on Election Day.
