Voter Information Verification Act

You do not need a photo ID to vote in 2014. Voters will be asked for photo IDs in 2014 but IDs will not be required for voting until 2016.

Acceptable forms of ID

• NC Driver’s License
• NC Non-Driver ID (free at DMV)
• US Passport
• US military or veteran ID card
• Tribal card
• Out-of-state driver’s license

Who doesn’t need a photo ID

• People with religious objection to having photograph taken
• Victims of natural disaster within 60 days of an election
• Curbside voters
• Absentee voters

Primary Election: May 6, 2014

• Registration Deadline: April 11
• Early Voting: April 24 to May 3

General Election: November 4

• Registration Deadline: October 10
• Early Voting: Oct. 23 to Nov. 1
