Protect the Vote in 2014
Voter Corps is a program created specifically to address issues in WNC regarding the new voting law, VIVA. It is orchestrated by the Asheville- Buncombe League of Women Voters and is fully supported by local volunteers.
On February 18 beginning at 6 p.m. at the West Asheville Library, 942 Haywood Road, the League will present the 2014 Spring Voter Corps Training. Information will be provided on the following volunteer opportunities:
• Conduct voter education presentations at civic organizations, churches, high schools and more
• Voter outreach to groups most affected by the changes to the law
• Provide nonpartisan rides to the polls
• Election-Day observation and data collection
• Monitor state and local implementation of the law
• Ensure voter registration is correct and complete and that voters have the correct information to vote in 2014
Please join us to learn how you can protect the vote in 2014! In the case of inclement weather, please check with the Library that the event is still planned and that the Library is not closing early.
