Program Manager – Development and Parking

The City of Asheville offers an opportunity for a dynamic project manager to assist the City in creating new quality, connected places in the City. Asheville consistently ranks as one of the nation’s top places to live, work, visit, and retire.

The Development and Parking Project Manager will work in the Office of Economic Development and evaluate, develop and negotiate opportunities for City participation in new public/private development partnerships.

The City continues
to garner significant interest in new private investment in
residential, commercial, office, retail, and hospitality projects. The
City’s Central Business District, Biltmore Village District and West
Asheville are all growing and offer opportunities for partnerships to
achieve strategic goals of City Council, including Public Parking.

Key
strengths for success in this position will include strong project
management skills, knowledge of urban development practices, financial
skills, strong negotiation skills, political savvy, ability to work
with strict confidential information, and excellent oral and written
communication skills. A bachelor’s degree with major course work in
Real Estate, Public Administration, Business Administration or a
related field with 5+ years of professional experience required. Real
Estate Broker’s License in North Carolina preferred.

The
starting salary range for this position is $43,437 – $57,554 DOQ with
