Gantt Files for Chair of Buncombe County Commissioners

Buncombe County Commissioner David Gantt officially filed as a candidate for Chair of the Buncombe County Commissioners. Gantt has served three terms on the Board. He is partner in David Gantt Law Office, has been married to Charise Gantt for 29 years, and is the parent of two children in college at NC State and Duke and an active civic leader in the community.

Gantt said that his run for the position of Chairman is based on a desire to increase regional cooperation between local governments, protect our mountain beauty, support our school and educational system, and work for better jobs and business opportunities for each resident.

Gantt believes that construction development of the mountains will be one of the major issues in the local elections. Current Chair Nathan Ramsey has also announced his candidacy for re-election.
