Freedom Summer 2026
Same Fight. New Generation.
Voting rights. Safety. Education. Housing. Economic freedom—all under attack at once.
We are no longer citizens of this nation. We are founders of a new one.
We have always been the true custodians of democracy. We are the architects now.
Our parents and grandparents marched, organized, bled, and won. The Voting Rights Act was theirs. The fight is ours—and it’s bigger now.
Callais gutted Section 2 and nine Southern states lost federal oversight overnight. But voting is one front of many: safety, education, housing, economic freedom—all under attack.
Every Black neighborhood in America is a Great Migration story—Harlem, the South Side, Detroit, Oakland. Every one of these cities is a generation away from the South.
Montgomery got us started. Mississippi kept it going. Freedom Summer is a nationwide season of action—opening Juneteenth Week, running through the John Lewis Days, Voter Registration Day, and Election Day. Movement and momentum for the midterms and beyond.
We move together, or we don’t move at all. What gets taken from one of us gets taken from all of us. That’s the fight. That’s the family.
