Four days of community events take place September 7-11, 2023.
Shine on Shiloh Tours
Saturday, September 7 from 4-6 p.m.
Meet at the Double Tree Hilton, 115 Hendersonville Road in Asheville.
Saturday, September 9 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon.
Meet at the Linwood Crump Recreation Complex.
Saturday, September 11 from 1-4 p.m.
Meet at the Shiloh Community Garden, 59 Hampton Street in Asheville.
Visit nine points of interest around the Shiloh Community and learn more about the historic Asheville neighborhood. Free to attend.
The Shiloh Community, known to some as New Shiloh, is a historic African American community. As Shiloh resident and historian Anita Carter-White notes, “According to oral and church histories, old Shiloh was located north of the Biltmore Estate. When George Vanderbilt bought the land for his mountain home in the late 1880’s he moved the entire community, including Shiloh Church and the church cemetery, to its current location.”
Shiloh Legacy Gala
Thursday, September 7 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Double Tree Hilton, 115 Hendersonville Road in Asheville.
Mingle and have a blast with neighbors and community members. This gala promises an evening filled with fun, laughter, and great memories. Dress to impress and get ready to enjoy delicious food, refreshing drinks, and fantastic entertainment. This event benefits the vision of the Shiloh Community Resource Center.

Annual Historic Shiloh Community Celebration
Saturday, September 9 from 1-4 p.m. at the Linwood Crump Recreation Complex.
A celebration of the history of the Shiloh community from 1870 to the present. Free to attend.
Burial Beer Fundraising Event
Sunday, September 10 from 3-6 p.m. at Burial Brewing, 10 Shady Oak Drive in Asheville.
Support the Shiloh Community Association at a Summer Picnic Celebration. 100% of all food and beverage sales during the event will be donated to the organization. Walk, bike or drive on over to the Forestry Camp location for family-friendly vibes, complimentary food from the grill, and to learn more about our community. Free to attend.
Community Work Day
Monday, September 11 from 1-4 p.m. at the Shiloh Community Garden, 59 Hampton Street in Asheville.
Spend the afternoon helping out in the Shiloh Garden with community partners Burial Brewing. Tours of the Shiloh community will also be offered. Free to attend.
