The YMI Cultural Center (YMICC) will hold a free public webinar, “Reparations: A Deeper Conversation,” on Wednesday, October 28 beginning at 12 noon.
The downtown Black cultural institution invites you to discuss how to move reparations forward and the role that the YMI can play in the movement. This a call to action, to move words from paper to a deeper conversation.
The webinar, hosted by Executive Director Dewana Little, will be focused on the definition, history, and importance of reparations as well as the history of Black Asheville, and will feature Dr. Agya Boakye-Boaten, Matthew Bacoate, Jr., Roy Harris, Alexandria Ravenel, Libby Kyles, Rob Thomas, Renee White, and other community leaders.
