New Children’s Series, “We the People”
New, empowering, children’s series produced by Barack and Michelle Obama.
The former president and first lady are working with a handful of creatives and musicians to produce ten animated music videos that will teach kids the basics of rights and citizenship with upbeat songs by popular artists. Participating artists include H.E.R., Janelle Monáe, Cordae, Daveed Diggs, Andra Day, poet Amanda Gorman, KYLE, Brandi Carlisle, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Bebe Rexha, and Adam Lambert.
The series, created by Chris Nee under the Obamas Higher Ground banner, frames civics as a living, breathing thing, and allow children to gain a better understanding of what government and citizenship mean today.
We the People will be available to stream on July 4, 2021 on Netflix.
We the People brings contemporary musicians and directors together to remix civics for a new generation.
