Employment Opportunity – Exceptional Children Teacher/Co-Coordinator
Francine Delany New School for Children is expanding our EC Department in the 2021-2022 school year.
This is an unique opportunity to work at a teacher-run school with a small student body, where teachers participate in leadership roles and act as decision-makers regarding policy, budget, curriculum, professional development, organization and structure.
Position Description/Duties:
The Teacher will spend up to 70% of their hours serving as an Exceptional Children teacher and the remainder of the time assisting the EC Department Coordinator with programming duties and case management/referral responsibilities.
The Co-Coordinators of the Exceptional Children Program are responsible for implementation and monitoring Francine Delany’s differentiated services that include Exceptional Children services and related services.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Current NC Exceptional Children Licensure (or certification that would transfer from another state)
• Experience working with children
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5 years Exceptional Children teaching experience
• Experience with ECATS
• Leadership experience in EC or related program
• Knowledge/background in social justice teaching
• Experience in working with/promoting a diverse environment
Start Date: August 9, 2021
Wages/Salary: State Scale with Competitive Supplement,
