Black Asheville 411: June 2026
Celebrating Asheville’s Black community.

The Black Asheville 411 panel discussion included representatives from organizations that hold African American centered events in Asheville.
Organizations included Just Folks/Triangle Park events, The Block Collaborative/Ujamaa Marketplace, Grind AVL/Grindfest, YMI Cultural Center/Goombay, Legacy Neighborhoods Coalition/Village Fest.
The panel discussed their organizations, their history/purpose, their events, and their goals. Mayor Esther Manheimer also presented the official Juneteenth declaration for Asheville.
