A Look at Entertainment

by T.J. Moore –

Pose executive producer and director Janet Mock stunned her co-stars, her bosses at FX, and reporters at the show’s premiere party on April 29 as she delivered a wide-ranging and fiery speech.

During the 15-minute rant, Mock complained about her salary from the show, demanded better treatment for the trans community, and revealed that she had an affair on her boyfriend, Pose actor Angel Bismark Cruiel, with someone in the show’s crew.

Early in the speech, Mock allegedly wondered, “Why am I making $40,000 an episode? Huh? I am angry!” she vented, demanding more money and perks equal to other TV executives. The Jazz at Lincoln Center fell completely silent as Mock shouted: “F**k Hollywood” and continued her tirade. “Does this make you uncomfortable? It should. It should make you shake in your m**f** boots. This is speaking truth. This is what Pose is.”

Can you smell what “The Rock” is cookin’?

He endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in 2020 but Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is considering a potential presidential run.

The actor and WWE hall of famer elaborated on his political ambitions during a recent interview with Sunday Today’s Willie Geist. In the interview, Johnson shared that a presidential run could be in his future.

“I do have the goal to unite our country. And I also feel that if this is what the people want, then I will do that.”

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, actor Michael B. Jordan shared that he invited Lauren London to co-star with him in Without Remorse because he thought it might be therapeutic for the actress, who is still in mourning over the loss of her partner, rapper Nipsey Hussle. In Without Remorse, London plays Pam, the pregnant wife of Jordan’s character, who is killed.

“I felt like acting is sometimes a release, to be able to express yourself in a way that you normally can’t in other situations, and I felt like, specific to this character and their relationship on screen, it felt like it was an opportunity that, if she was up to it, that could be something for her to let some of that out.”

Jordan also explained that he also hoped to draw from London’s experience as he attempted to tap into the loss his character experiences in the film.

“It was an opportunity, even for me to help understand what I was going through as the character. So, she helped me out a lot in this and helped me wrap my brain around what that felt like and how to channel that in a real way.”

Without Remorse is available now on Amazon Video.

Kandi Burruss

Singer and songwriter Kandi Burruss spoke on Instagram Live with Eddie LeVert of the O’Jays and his daughter about some of her most memorable moments while working in the studio over the years. After mentioning the highlights, she recalled an experience while working with Boyz II Men that left her feeling very disrespected.

“I hate to do it, I hate to do it,” Burruss said after LeVert pressed her a bit to spill the tea about who was the most difficult group or person she’s worked with in the studio. “Ain’t no love lost, I mean this is a hundred years later so it doesn’t even matter. But yeah, I had a bad experience in the studio with Boyz II Men.”

Burruss said that the experience had nothing to do with singing. According to Burruss it was about the attitude the group had.

“We fell out after that (studio session) it was an issue. I don’t think I’ve ever been disrespected like that before in a studio in my life. It was crazy really. But at the end of the day, that was a long time ago. Clearly, you know, we moved past that or whatever.”

Boyz II Men member Wanya Morris decided to comment on Burruss’s allegations and shared his own recollection of what happened between her and the group. According to Morris, the disagreement stemmed from different rules of trade regarding who would be given credit and royalties for different parts of the song.

“We’ve been taught you write a song and you split (the songwriting credits) down the middle. That way, there’s no discrepancies.” Morris said of how he and the group were taught the songwriting process. “We finish the song, and once we finished the song, she started talking about splits. Now the song wasn’t actually finished, but she started taking about splits.”
