Ms. Eloise W. Piercy celebrated her 101st birthday on April 1st 2013. A dinner in her honor was hosted by her devoted nice, Dorothy Oglesby
Eloise was born in Sumter, South Carolina, the second child of Charles and Henrietta Williams. She moved to Asheville at an early age, and attended the Asheville City Schools. Ms. Piercy loves reading the bible and talking about the lord. She is still a member of St. James A. M. E Church, and has been for over 80 years.
She has a great appreciation in being able to reminisce about “the good ole’ days” when things were a lot different, and holds a fondness in her heart for the old East End area where she lived most of her life.
She celebrates her life with five grandchildren, 15 great-grands, two nephews, other relatives and many friends.
