Building Bridges Scholarship Awards Program

Building Bridges of Asheville is pleased to invite applicants for the 2007-08 Scholarship Awards Program. The awards are designed to recognize two graduating seniors in Asheville City and/or Buncombe County public schools. At least one of scholarship recipients will be an African-American student. All applications are held in strictest confidence.



Description


•    In-state tuition and fees for up to 4 years at any NC accredited public university or technical /community college.

Purpose of the Award


•    To encourage a motivated student who has clear financial need to continue his or her education


Eligibility


Applicant must:



•    Have a minimum of 2.5 GPA during the last two years of high school



•    Be a resident of North Carolina at the time of application.



•    Submit a completed application and all supporting materials on or before March 15, 2007.



•    Demonstrate a clear financial need



Terms



•    Awards are for the 2007-08 academic year plus three more years if a student maintains at least a 2.5 GPA.



•    Recipients must be accepted to a NC public university or technical/community college as a full time student.



•    Candidates must be committed to completing a 4 year degree program



•    Awardees and at least one member of their family would be provided the opportunity to attend a Building Bridges session



Application Deadline



•    Application and all supporting materials must be postmarked by March 15, 2007.
