WNC-Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO Endorses Patsy Keever for 10th District Seat

Recently the Western North Carolina Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO announced their endorsement of Rep. Patsy Keever, the Democratic nominee for the U.S. House in North Carolina’s 10th Congressional District. Keever represents the 115th District in the North Carolina House of Representatives.
“We need legislators of Patsy’s quality working in Western North Carolina and across this country; legislators who stand side by side with workers! Patsy has the conviction and integrity to stand up for the people of this district and the people of the country,” said Mark Case, President of the Central Labor Council. “We have seen the good work Patsy has done while serving in the NC House, and we have no doubt that she will continue it in the U.S. House.”
The WNC-CLC, AFL-CIO is a branch of the federation of labor, representing members of many labor unions throughout Western North Carolina. It is a key part of the nation’s largest and strongest labor federation—the AFL-CIO, which unites 10.5 million working women and men of every race and ethnicity and from every walk of life.
“I am elated that the WNC-CLC, AFL-CIO has pledged their support to my campaign,” said Keever. “As a former president of the Buncombe County Association of Educators, I have always sought to improve the lives of working men and women. In Congress I will continue to do so.”
The WNC-CLC, AFL-CIO endorsement adds to a growing list of elected officials and organizations supporting Keever, including the Sierra Club, Women’s Campaign Fund, Democracy for America, Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Blue America, and North Carolina League of Conservation Voters.
Keever taught in the public schools for more than 25 years and served on the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners for 12 years. In 2010, Keever was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives from NC District 115.
