2026 Women’s History Month Profiles

Celebrating the service, advocacy, creativity, community leadership, and intergenerational impact of local women.

Women’s History Month invites us to honor the visionaries, caregivers, scholars, artists, and advocates whose work strengthens our communities every day.

This year’s profiles highlight women whose lives span continents, disciplines, and generations. Women who share a common commitment to service, justice, and collective uplift. From classrooms and community centers to global diplomatic stages, these women have shaped policy, nurtured families, preserved culture, expanded access, and fought for equity with courage and clarity.

Their stories remind us that leadership takes many forms: a scholar defending Africana Studies, a mother transforming her struggle into advocacy for paid leave, a community health worker bridging cultures, an activist challenging systems of oppression, an elder sustaining a beloved cultural center, a diplomat breaking barriers on the world stage, and an artist stitching together tradition and pride.

Together, they embody the knowledge that progress is built through persistence, care, and the everyday labor of women who refuse to let their communities be forgotten.

These profiles celebrate their journeys, and the legacies they continue to build.
