YMCA Job Opportunity: Executive Director of Community Health

Be a leader in the Y’s efforts to advance health equity in the community.

This full-time position is responsible for leading an outcome-driven portfolio of programs and services designed to address health disparities, nutrition and food insecurity, improve health education, and decrease the prevalence of chronic disease in western North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities

  • Functions as an expert in evidence-based health intervention (EBHI) programs; builds capacity for and ensures the successful delivery of EBHI programs in a manner that complies with published standards
  • Supports the continued development and implementation of quality control measures to ensure compliance with federal and state standards and program and/or grant-specific outcomes
  • Develops, manages, and grows community relationships to maximize collaborative efforts and access to resources
  • Ensure that each program/service achieves quality performance outcomes; conduct regular market research and prepare statistical, analytical, and narrative reports regarding strategies to achieve objectives
  • Ensures strong financial sustainability through annual campaign involvement, grant writing, federal reimbursements, and efficient operations.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, and supervision of staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five+ years professional experience in program leadership, product innovation, and fiscal management.
  • Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize workloads in order to meet deadlines as well as being detail-orientated and conscientious.
  • Good interpersonal, public relations, and communications skills, including the ability to make presentations.
