A car full of donated food was contributed by sorors.
Members of the local Gamma Gamma Omega Chapter of AKA recently donated nonperishable foods, contributing to the success of their healthy food drive. All the food donated was given to Western Carolina Rescue Mission, whose goal is to assist recipients with sobriety and their spiritual and physical needs.
Undertaking this effort is one of the ways this chapter of AKA continues to support the Western Carolina area in ending hunger. Mary Brown and Mary Harmon served as program chairpersons. Terry Bellamy is President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Gamma Gamma Omega Chapter.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. had its humble beginnings as the vision of nine college students on the campus of Howard University in 1908. Since then, the sorority has flourished into a globally impactful organization of nearly 300,000 college-trained members, bound by the bonds of sisterhood and empowered by a commitment to servant leadership that is both domestic and international in its scope.
