Independence Day Celebrations and Firework Shows
After a year without festivals due to the pandemic, the City of Asheville will put on a fireworks display downtown for the Fourth of July.
There will be no accompanying festival activities or invited food or drink vendors at the park. People are welcome to bring their own picnic or order take-out from a favorite restaurant.
Portable bathrooms, water bottle filling stations, and first aid will be available in the Pack Square Park area.
In accordance with Parks Department policy, no tents, cooking, or alcoholic beverages will be allowed. Dogs should be leashed, but please be aware that fireworks frighten many dogs, so the City urges residents to consider leaving your pet at home.
For additional family fun, it is anticipated that the Splasheville play fountain for children will be repaired and reopened by July 4, 2021 as well.
DJ Nex Millen will supply music on the Park Square Park stage on Sunday, July 4, 2021 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., before the fireworks begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.
