Community Values Assessment
Making Asheville-Buncombe County Values Visible
Staff Reports
We Are Asheville is a community values assessment sponsored by Asheville-based Barrett Values Centre, in partnership with local civic and business leaders. This assessment is intended to inform and empower local problem-solving, decision-making, and sustainability through an understanding of our community’s shared values.
All citizens of Asheville and Buncombe County, regardless of age, are
encouraged to take the values survey, which takes about 10 minutes, and
is available in English and Spanish. There are three main directives:
select your top 10 personal values, top 10 values you experience in the
community, and top 10 values you see as essential for the community’s
future. Optional demographic questions at the end will allow for further
analysis. The survey is unaffiliated with any political or religious
group, and results are anonymous.
Barrett Values Centre has been reaching out to the community in
an attempt to create a snapshot of the area’s values. The community’s
voices are essential to making the survey valuable, so every citizen is
encouraged to participate in order to provide a more complete sampling.
The survey will take only about 10 minutes. Deadline is December 23, 2011. Find more information and a link to the survey at www.valuescentre.com/we_are_asheville/
