Dr. Charles Mosley Honored

Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church celebrated the 41st pastoral anniversary of Reverend Dr. Charles R. Mosley on Sunday, August 28, 2016.
The call to worship was announced by Rev. C. Ronald Mosley, Jr. pastor of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Waynesville, NC. Dr. John H. Grant of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Asheville, NC offered the morning celebration prayer, followed by a solo from Rev. William E. Staley.
Bishop Lionel T. Smith was the morning celebratory service speaker. His topic was “The Giants Just Keep on Coming,” (his take on the David and Goliath biblical story of how a minister who has pastored for 41 years must’ve encountered any number of “giants”) along the way.
The evening celebration service commenced with an introduction of the speaker Rev. Dr. Keith A. Ogden by Deacon Benjamin P. Hall, Moderator of the Mud Creek Baptist Association. Dr. Ogden’s message of the evening was “The Gospel Proclaimed,” by which he spoke from Acts 5th Chapter, and about how all souls belong to the Lord, but not everyone has been called to preach.
Both messages of the day were enjoyed by all.
The communities of Asheville along with the staff of The Urban News congratulates Dr. Charles R. Mosley for 41 years of spiritual guidance to the communities of Asheville, Buncombe County, and the Western North Carolina region.
